Schuco Espresso Bar

In the 1950s the Schuco Varianto system was an interesting alternative to the widely used model railroads. Just like the model railroads it was possible to built realistic  traffic situations with cars, buses and trucks in a small scale. However, contrary to the model railways no preformed and expensive rail elements were needed. With a simple system of steering wires made of pieces of flexible and rigid parts for the curves and simple fasteners for straight lines almost unlimited routes could be established. Of course there was also a wide variety of crossings, bridges, tunnels, garages and petrol stations available in order to create a realistic environment. As a highlight almost every accessory was equipped with a function. One of the lesser known and rarer accessories is the Varianto Espresso Bar. This tin toy is processed with the high quality typically for Schuco, with many details. The Espresso Bar is a highlight in every Varianto system, but even as a nostalgic decoration on a shelf or on a desk the small espresso bar from the fifties it is certainly an eye-catcher.
